Welcome to Sophie Cabin, an eco-sanctuary just an hour's drive from Cape Town, nestled in the serene landscapes of Rawsonville. Accessible via a winding dirt road that passes through Kirabo Farm on the Le Roux Estate, this retreat offers a peaceful escape and an opportunity to reconnect with nature in its most natural state.

Sophie Cabin is a 100% off-the-grid retreat, powered by solar energy and is thoughtfully designed to provide a warm and welcoming escape. Step onto your private deck and immerse yourself in the beauty of the fynbos, the harmonious sounds of local birdlife, and the presence of indigenous wildlife.

This sanctuary offers a serene escape from typical tourist destinations, providing a space characterized by simplicity, tranquility, and breathtaking natural beauty. Here, time seems to move more slowly, allowing you to savour the peaceful moments, gaze at the moon and stars, and reflect on our shared responsibility to protect the environment.

Sophie Cabin goes beyond being just accommodation; it's a retreat that encourages you to reduce your environmental footprint and fully appreciate each moment of your stay in harmony with nature.

With private access to the cabin, you can check in at any time after 2pm.

More About Your Stay

  • Although the road to your stay is dirt, 4 x 4 vehicles are not required to access the cabin.

  • Guests are invited to check in at any time after 2pm by following our simple check-in process.

  • If you find yourselves on the road at night, please drive slowly and be mindful of the resident springhares, buck and porcupines.

  • We provide a complimentary wood allocation for each stay, but we recommend bringing extra wood if you plan to enjoy extended hours by the starlit fire. Your stay includes a bundle of fire essentials, consisting of two 10kg bags of firewood and one 10kg bag of kindling.

  • We've partnered with businesses in the area to offer extra services and experiences to complement your stay.

  • We are fully solar-powered so please be mindful of overloading the system.

  • For our long-stay guests, if you require housekeeping please get in touch with our team.

Cabin Rules

Please ensure you abide by our cabins rules and respect our little eco haven. 

  • Check-in: 2pm onwards

  • Checkout: 10am

  • Self check in via access code

  • Children under 4 stay free 

  • High fire risk area, be vigilent

  • No smoking indoors

  • No parties or events

  • Pets allowed on request 

Cancellation Policy

This reservation is refundable depending on the date of cancellation and source of booking.

 

  • 0% cancellation fee: more than 30 days from arrival.

  • 50% cancellation fee: between 30-14 days from arrival.

  • 100% cancellation fee: less than 14 days from arrival.

Please note cancellation policies differ if you book via a third party such as Airbnb.
